MathSoc and the School of Maths & Stats invite you to the MathSoc Summer and Graduation Ball at Beamish Hall.
Stated as the best event of the MathSoc calendar and with the new addition of the Graduation Ball, this is an amazing way to end the year. All members and non-members are welcome, so don't worry if you've never come to a MathSoc event before, now's your chance!
We're holding the event on Friday 4th May at Beamish Hall, a fantastic venue with a beautiful setting, which will make it a special night for all. The theme, 'A Night Under the Stars', will transform the venue into a wonderful scene, with an accompanying optional black tie dress code.
What to expect
Tickets at £30 will include:
- Transport to the venue
- Pimms on arrival
- 3 Course Meal
- Wine for the table
- DJ/Disco after the meal
Coaches will depart from The Great North Hancock Museum at 6:45pm to arrive at Beamish Hall at 7:15pm. We have the venue booked until midnight, but we're looking at extending this time to later in the night.
Menu
The standard menu that will be served is:
- Chicken liver parfait with toasted bread, handpicked leaves and salad dressing
- Braised Beef with Horseradish Mash, Roast Vegetables with a rich gravy
- Sticky Toffee Pudding with a Caramel Sauce
An alternative Vegetarian Menu is:
- Trio of Melon served with Lemon Sorbet Fresh Fruit Coulis
- Spinach and Mushroom Tart with Buttered Parsley, new potatoes and roast vegetables
- Sticky Toffee Pudding with a Caramel Sauce
Getting your tickets
You can buy tickets in the Glass Box on the Ground Floor of the Herschel Building at one of the following selling times:
- Monday 23rd April, 11am - 12 noon.
- Tuesday 24th April, 11am - 12 noon.
- Wednesday 25th April, 11am - 12 noon.
- Thursday 26th April, 12 noon - 1pm.
- Friday 27th April, 12 noon - 1pm.
If you pay for your ticket before Wednesday 25th April, you will be entered into a prize draw where you could win the £30 cost of your ticket back!
